Lonlas Presentation Nights
2004 – 2005
The Memorial Hall, Skewen
Friday May 6th & Saturday May
7th |

The decision to hold the Presentations at The Memorial
Hall in Skewen Park this year seems to have been a massive success.
The feedback from everyone has been positive and the numbers that
attended over the two nights ensured that it has been the best
awards weekend to date.
We would like to extend our congratulations to all the recipients
of individual awards, and to acknowledge the success of our Under
15's in achieving their first league title (they have still to
play the League Cup Final), the Under 16's who won the Neath League
Youth Cup on the morning of the awards night and especially Lonlas
Rangers who clinched the Neath League Division 2 Championship in
their first season. The senior squad contained 9 players under
the age of 18, and each one has played a significant part in securing
the title.
We must also recognise success on the continent with our Under
14's securing third place in this years Hanze Trophy in Holland
. Only a poor refereeing decision prevented them contesting the
final, I'm sure they can take that extra step next year.
Lonlas Under 13's finished second in their league this season
to add to the championship title they won last year. The runners
up place will surely spur them on to regaining their title next
season.
At the time of writing this synopsis of the season, our Under
12's team are awaiting a date for the Under 12 Plate Final, so
before we start to unwind for the summer months, there may well
be more silverware in our already bulging trophy cabinets.
In conclusion, every boy and girl who has represented the club
this season has been a credit to Lonlas. They have played with
the passion and enthusiasm that has made this club one of the most
successful in South West Wales. The future looks promising with
a thriving mini football section, a junior section full of titles
and trophies and a senior team able to offer every boy the opportunity
to advance his football career with Lonlas.
On behalf of everyone who attended the Memorial Hall, I would
like to thank Mr. John Mahoney who gave up his time to present
the awards to the players. I would also like to thank all the people
who worked so hard to make the event such a memorable occasion.
